New Supervisor & Manager Workshop Description
Many people land in their first management role without any training on the skills they will need. Their role fundamentally changes as a manager. They no longer “do.” They need to orchestrate the success of the team through individuals who “do.” As leaders, we need to break the cycle and prepare our new and next managers in these new skills.
This program will prepare new, or upcoming, managers and supervisors to understand their new roles and how to handle situations that will occur.
This in-person workshop can be scheduled and held at your site for your team. We will discuss and complete activities that will reinforce the necessary skills for managers to lead their teams and deliver results! Class sizes are kept purposely small at less than 20 people to maximize the learning impact through active participation.
Each participant will complete a follow-up ‘Practice Commitment Contract’ to ensure this is not your typical check-the-box workshop. This ‘contract’ will require them to practice key learnings and reinforce behavior changes, to ensure that the skills are practiced and deployed!
Topics to be covered in depth include:
Why Aspire to Leadership? Do you have enough of the right motivation?
Styles of leadership and when to use each
7 Key Qualities of Leadership
What it means to be coachable and why that is critical.
How to demonstrate empathy and why that’s important.
Importance of resilience. How to not get crushed!
Key behaviors and traps for the leader.
Key communication skills and pitfalls.
Coaching and developing YOUR team.
Managing conflict and accountability.
These topics are taught based on current theory and research and then are reinforced with real-life experience and examples. Participants will partake in activities during the workshop to reinforce key points and ensure they understand that the tools presented have practical applications and that the experience is memorable! We start with broad topics and then get very specific with the skills needed to succeed and deliver results.

Deliverable outcomes from the Preparation for Management program include:
Equipping new managers and potential managers with the right skills to succeed in a managerial role.

PRICING
